Welcome to home learning.
We are aware it will be a challenging time for the families in Year 2 as remote learning begins. However, we want to emphasise the importance of ensuring your child engages with the daily lessons which will be posted.
Year 2 is a vital year for children’s education, especially with regards to their reading and writing. This is why we need you to fully engage with your child’s learning during this period.
In the comings days you will receive an email which gives your child their own email address and password to access Google Classroom. This is where the children will access their remote learning during lockdown. If for any reason you cannot access this platform, remote learning will still be available on our school website, under year 2 class page. If you are not able to access the remote learning online, you will be able to collect work packs from the school office only if you do not have access to internet and have requested one. You will be informed of how and when to pick these up.
Google Classroom will be our main way of engaging with yourself and the children at home. Teachers will be able to set assignments, tasks and activities for the children to complete. They may also be asked to evidence what they have completed at home, through Twitter, email or Google Classroom. We hope by doing this we can still maintain a strong relationship with yourselves and the children. If for any reason issues may arise, you can contact a member of staff through the following email.
The children have also received logins for Times Tables Rockstars, Numbots and Spelling Shed. These apps should also be used alongside your child’s remote learning.
This may seem daunting at first but with the support from school and your knowledge of your child we will make a great team. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need us.
Thank you for your continued support.
If you cannot for any reason access your work on Google Classroom, you can click or tap on the button called “CLASSWORK”. The button should be located right next to this paragraph!
