Reading competition children meet author Tom Palmer at LFC!

Ten boys from year 5 and year 6 visited Anfield Stadium, the home of Liverpool football club, to compete in a reading competition. The children have been part of a reading group over the past 6 weeks where they have been reading and discussing the book Free Kick from Tom Palmer’s Football Academy series. Our reading stars demonstrated a brilliant knowledge of the book and it was fabulous to see young people excited about reading for pleasure. Their comprehension quiz points were turned into penalty shoot out attempts, where they went head to head with author Tom Palmer as the goalkeeper! The children were fantastic role models and represented our school superbly. Well done boys, continue to share your new found love of reading with others!
