Liverpool Maths Party 2023

To celebrate the Liverpool Maths Party, we focussed on the theme of Maths Through Books. For this, we used the story A Mathematician Like Me by Shini Somara. In the book, a young girl sets out on an adventure and realises that she needs to use her maths knowledge throughout the journey. This involves a great deal of creative thinking and problem solving and, for our maths party, we encouraged the children to consider how they use maths each and every day. We wrote stories, designed posters and produced comics, all to the soundtrack of some fun maths related music!
